Town Planning Roles at NHS property Services

Be part of an award-winning team that works across the whole of England, with a goal to champion town planning for the NHS.

NHS Property Services Ltd are a registered learning partner of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and were awarded the ‘In-House Town Planning Team of the Year’ at the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence 2022.

We are looking for two highly motivated and experienced built environment professionals to join our team to provide specialist town planning advice and support focusing on our Developer Contributions (Section 106 / Community Infrastructure Levy/ Infrastructure Levy), Development Viability and Planning Policy workstreams. We have the following roles available: 

  • Associate Town Planner (Developer Contributions & Development Viability) - £50-65k
    Job Reference - 4167  

  • Senior Town Planner (Developer Contributions & Development Viability) - £42-50k
    Job Reference - 4167  

You will play a key role in driving forward the Developer Contributions workstream, and ensure that a consistent and forward-thinking approach is applied to the following areas:

  • Developer Contributions 
  • Development Viability 
  • Planning Policy Lobbying
  • Strategic Site Promotion 
  • Technical Advice and Support
  • Project Delivery

The NHSPS town planning team is the only dedicated professional town planning team of scale in the NHS. The management of our portfolio involves both development and disposal projects, as part of a strategic estate rationalisation programme. This includes both healthcare and non-healthcare related development and disposal projects.

Our portfolio is one of the largest in the UK, comprising more than 3,000 properties across England. At a total value of more than £3bn, this represents approximately 10% of the total NHS estate. Our properties range from Grade I listed buildings through to award-winning, state-of-the-art integrated health campuses and major strategic sites.
