Merton is a diverse and vibrant London borough and we are looking to appoint a CIL Collection Officer to assist us in the administration and collection of CIL for the Council.

As one of our CIL Officers in the Planning Contributions Team you’ll be working within the parameters of the CIL Regulations including determining the amount of CIL payable by a development, the granting of CIL Exemptions to payment, issuing of documentation including Liability and Demand Notices and taking appropriate enforcement action for non-compliance.

To carry out this role successfully, previous experience in a similar role or substantial experience in planning or property – within which you worked on CIL – is required. You will have a proven track record interpreting and implementing legislation with an eye for detail, working to tight deadlines in a manner that is consistent with meeting corporate targets and objectives and that requires minimal input or correction from the Principal Officers.

Merton offers flexible working arrangements with the option to work from home two days per week.  You will be working in a happy and supportive Planning Contributions Team. There will be opportunities to get involved in exciting regeneration projects, go on site visits and work with colleagues across regeneration, urban design, flood risk, climate change and other disciplines in our team.
