12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We are currently recruiting for a Planning Development Manager to join our small and busy Planning team responsible for the London Legacy Development Corporation’s Local Planning Authority function, for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will work within the Development Management team, reporting to and providing support to the Head of Development Management, as well as the Director of the Planning Policy and Decisions Team (PPDT) and the Head of Planning Policy.

The Role

Working in the Local Planning Authority you will be responsible for assessing and making recommendations on a variety of planning proposals. The role may also include planning enforcement and appeals work. You will be responsible for proactively evaluating planning proposals and providing professional planning advice; liaising and negotiating effectively with applicants and agents, consultees, elected members, Government departments, residents, land owners and statutory and non-statutory bodies.

The Person

We are looking for someone who has significant experience of managing planning applications or  someone who is degree educated with an appropriate town planning qualification.  You must be able to demonstrate experience of working in Development Management and a clear understanding of the statutory planning processes.  To be successful in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to negotiate skilfully with applicants and liaise with residents, landowners as well as other key stakeholders to LLDC.
