Rugby is one of the fastest growing towns in the country and is set to grow by 30% by 2035. An opportunity has arisen to work as an integral part of our friendly and pro-active Development and Enforcement Team for a Planning Enforcement Officer to help deliver the Council’s vision for the Borough.
Located in the county of Warwickshire, near the cities of Coventry and Leicester, with direct rail links to London and Birmingham and within "the golden triangle” of the strategic road network, Rugby’s accessibility is one of the key attributes making it a great place to live and work.
The successful applicant should ideally have experience of planning enforcement work together with knowledge of the UK planning system. You must be well organised and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. You must have very good communication skills and the ability to resolve a range of problems in a customer focussed manner. The post will lead on a range of planning enforcement matters and be responsible for ensuring enforcement complaints are investigated and assessed in a timely manner in accordance with the Council’s Enforcement Policy.
Explaining every step of the planning and enforcement process to our customers is vital to our success, and your achievements will be based not only on your ability to do your job but also on putting customer service at the heart of everything you do.
In addition, there is plenty of scope to get involved in a diverse range of workload from the urban area of the town to the rolling Warwickshire countryside much of which is Green Belt as well as heritage and cultural work that helps preserve the birthplace of the game of Rugby.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential.
