Northumberland National Park Authority is looking to recruit a Planning Officer to play an integral role in providing a positive and proactive Planning service in a way that respects the character of the National Park.
This post could suit someone early in their career as well as someone who has more experience . We have a permanent part-time or full-time role available.

Our planning officers handle an interesting and challenging range of Development Management case work, providing pre-application advice to prospective applicants, leading on any planning appeals and compliance and enforcement work. There are also opportunities to be involved in a wide range of planning work including Neighbourhood Planning and policy work.
You will be eligible or working towards RTPI Membership or have a demonstrably equivalent qualification or experience. You will need to have the confidence, skills and expertise to negotiate with applicants to secure high quality schemes which enhance and do not damage the special qualities of Northumberland National Park. You must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with applicants, colleagues, Authority Members and local communities on planning matters.
