Senior Planner (Enforcement & Appeals) / Full time

ET Planning

Competitive

Crowthorne, South Central

PJCOM2173C

Description

Senior Planner (Enforcement & Appeals)
Application Deadline – Thursday 28th July 2022 5.00pm BST

About You

You will have 3+ years post graduation professional experience (in planning for Local Government or Consultancy), and you will be actively working towards attaining MRTPI if not already recently achieved. You’ll have experience of preparing or considering Certificates of Lawfulness applications, Prior Approvals, and minor development level planning applications. You will be looking to take a step up the complexity of the projects you’re taking on, addressing issues such as Human Rights or complex case law considerations. You will be excited to come up with solutions for clients, and will have a good grasp of establishing fallback positions and forming creative strategies to achieve desired outcomes. You will be keen to take more ownership of your own time management, to take responsibility for meeting deadlines.

You may have already or will be working towards a MRTPI chartered status. It would also be helpful if you had a driving license, and access to a vehicle. Significant experience of working on Planning Enforcement cases would be advantageous.

What You’ll Do

You be dealing with complex Planning Appeals, and Enforcement Appeals for both Private Clients, as
well as representing Local Planning Authorities as part of a wider specialist team. You will have the opportunity to get exposure to dealing with appeals at Hearing and Public Inquiry level (experience of leading on either would be beneficial). You will be reassuring clients, who are subject to enforcement investigations (often following significant financial and emotional investment), and reassuring them on the strategy options and appropriate planning process.

Why ET Planning

Based in in our Crowthorne (Berkshire) offices, working predominantly on Enforcement and Appeals projects you will benefit from a generous flexible working policy, with the ability to agree flexible working hours with your line manager, the ability to work remotely (though you will always have access to the offices), and the ability to accrue and use Flexi Leave. Our business model means that we’re not dependant on completing time sheets (most of us have had to do that in past companies and hated it), so there won’t be an expectation to attribute all of your working hours to specific projects in excruciating detail. You’ll have the opportunity to make your own sales from warm leads, along with benefitting from the requisite compensation. If you’re supporting more junior staff, your bonuses will also take into account any signatory value. As part of a fast growing, young and dynamic team, you’ll experience a positive supportive culture where we all have the opportunity to grow and succeed by helping each other. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across multiple authority areas which will support professional and career development.
