Our client is the UK's leading independent, integrated Planning and Design consultancy.
The Ebbsfleet office is made up of approximately 20 employees working in Research and Planning.
The office is a modern, open plan space which enjoys spectacular views over the neighbouring quarry. It is headed up by a Partner and boasts a friendly and busy atmosphere. Parking is available onsite. The office is within minutes of the M25 with onsite parking and 17 minutes from London St Pancras International by high speed rail.
Their established and busy Planning team has exciting opportunities for a talented and commercially minded Planner or Senior Planner to join their team to work on a broad range of planning projects.
The team currently service a mix of small, medium and large development schemes, using their local knowledge and national influence to plan and deliver projects of all types and scales. The team provides invaluable assistance to their clients, and in return enjoy outstanding professional development and career opportunities. Projects that the team are involved in presently include a range of residential and mixed use schemes, including strategic sites and Garden Cities/Garden Suburbs.
The successful candidate should have good technical skills and experience in planning.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Promoting large scale residential and mixed use developments (both brownfield and greenfield) through the Local Development Framework
- Developing client relationships and generating work
- Co-ordination of project teams and project management
- Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
- Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications
- Preparation of planning and economic statements
- Policy representations
- Planning appeal assistance (particularly at Senior Planner level)
It is essential that candidates:
- Are MRTPI qualified or working towards it
- Have planning experience, ideally including residential and commercial experience
- Are committed and have an eye for detail
- Have project management skills
- Used to working with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative
- Are personable and a strong team player
- Are committed to continuing their professional development
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have car access
Additional desirable attributes would be:
An interest in business development (especially at Senior Planner level)
