The Kings Hill office at Barton Willmore now Stantec is made up of approximately 20 employees working in Research and Planning. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Planner to join the team and work on a broad range of planning projects. The planning team principally focusses on residential-led developments in the Southeast including new town settlements, garden villages and exciting regeneration projects as well as mixed-use, industrial/commercial and retirement housing schemes. Developments range in size, use and complexity and include the preparation and submission of all types of planning applications, as well as Local Plan promotions.

• Promote large scale residential, mixed use and commercial developments (both Brownfield and Greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and coordinate professional teams to submit applications
• Co-ordinate project teams and take on project management responsibility
• Conduct research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
• Prepare, submit and negotiate on planning and economic applications
• Prepare policy representations
• Develop client relationships
• Input to planning appeals

To succeed in the role, it is likely that you will:

• Be MRTPI qualified or working towards it
• Have some consultancy experience
• Have some knowledge of planning in the South East region
• Have strong planning experience and experience of working on residential developments
• Can undertake quantitative and sequential assessments
• Are committed and have an eye for detail
• Used to working with minimal supervision and have an ability to use their own initiative
• Have a proven ability to maintain and develop client relationships
• Have a strong team capability
• Have strong project management skills
• Have strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car
