The Kings Hill office at Barton Willmore now Stantec is made up of approximately 20 employees working in Research and Planning. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Planner to join the team and work on a broad range of planning projects. The planning team principally focusses on residential-led developments in the Southeast including new town settlements, garden villages and exciting regeneration projects as well as mixed-use, industrial/commercial and retirement housing schemes. Developments range in size, use and complexity and include the preparation and submission of all types of planning applications, as well as Local Plan promotions.

About you
To have an impact in the role you will:
- Promote large scale residential, mixed use and commercial developments (both Brownfield and Greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and coordinate professional teams to submit applications
- Co-ordinate project teams and take on project management responsibility
- Conduct research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
- Prepare, submit and negotiate on planning and economic applications
- Prepare policy representations
- Develop client relationships
- Input to planning appeals
To succeed in the role, it is likely that you will:
- Be MRTPI qualified or working towards it
- Have some consultancy experience
- Have some knowledge of planning in the South East region
- Have strong planning experience and experience of working on residential developments
- Can undertake quantitative and sequential assessments
- Are committed and have an eye for detail
- Used to working with minimal supervision and have an ability to use their own initiative
- Have a proven ability to maintain and develop client relationships
- Have a strong team capability
- Have strong project management skills
- Have strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car
