We are now looking for a Town Planner to join our Planning team based in our Bristol office which includes teams from Planning, Design, Transport, Infrastructure and Heritage. We are open to consider candidates on a full time or part time basis and you will be able to enjoy the benefits of our agile working policy, providing the successful candidate with flexible hybrid working to meet your own individual needs and define your work life balance.

As a part of a leading consultancy in the UK, you will be given the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of planning projects covering various sectors and dealing with a variety of clients. We cover all kinds of planning work in the Bristol office, there is a focus on renewables, residential including specialist housing for senior people and commercial (employment and town centre) development. We are looking for someone who is interested in assisting with all of these areas, alongside our 15 other friendly planners of various levels and backgrounds. You’ll be undertaking public consultation, preparing, submitting and monitoring planning applications, as well as collating evidence for appeals, negotiating applications and also moving towards managing your own projects.

Person Specification

Do you pride yourself on producing high-quality work?

Do you enjoy creating sustainable and successful developments, and working as part of a team?

Then we would love to hear from you. Candidates are welcome to get in touch on an informal basis to discuss and learn more about the role.

We are looking for candidates to demonstrate that they have the following:

RTPI accredited degree or a similar relevant degree;
Chartered member of the RTPI or working towards - We will support you throughout the APC process;
Previous experience in researching, preparing, submitting planning applications, statements and appraisals or experience in dealing with pre-application enquiries, determining applications and preparing Officer Reports; 
Experience in planning practice (public or private);
Experience in planning practice;
Enthusiastic and professional.
