AN OPPORTUNITY HAS ARISEN FOR A PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN THE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SECTION OF THE COUNCIL. THIS WOULD BE A PERMANENT ROLE.

The role of the postholder will be to investigate complaints of unauthorised development which are reported by members of the public, Councillors and staff within the Service Area and to ensure development proceeds in compliance with approved plans and planning conditions. The complexity of enforcement investigations to be processed and level of supervision given will be related to the post holder's qualifications and experience. It will be expected that the successful candidate would assist in the processing of planning applications and be part of a duty officer rota. 

An ability to drive for the purpose of undertaking site visits is desirable.  

Candidates must either hold a recognised qualification in Town Planning (or a related discipline) to a minimum level of HND, HNC or NVQ Level 4 or alternatively, applicants with an equivalent combination of knowledge and several years experience of planning in practice will be considered.
