An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Town Planner to join the Development Management team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role will support the Head of Planning in the day-to-day operation of the Town Planning function, contributing to planning activities across the full development lifecycle—from acquisition through delivery to operations and disposal.
The role is based in our London office with hybrid working of three days per week in the office and two days from home, if required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

- Support the coordination and delivery of Town Planning activities across multiple projects
- Assist in the review of sites at acquisition and disposal stages, providing due diligence and peer review
- Analyse planning history and assess compliance against contractual and regulatory requirements
- Help prepare detailed due diligence packs for site disposals, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Contribute to the identification of planning risks and support the development of mitigation strategies
- Assist in reviewing completed sites and units to ensure ongoing compliance post–practical completion
- Provide support and technical input on planning processes and legislation to internal stakeholders
- Liaise with internal teams, Employers’ Agents, developers, local authorities, and other stakeholders
- Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a planning or development environment (e.g. internship or graduate role)
- Experience supporting due diligence processes
- Understanding of the UK planning system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to analyse information and identify risks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
