About the opportunity
Our client is always keen to hear from talented planners at Associate and Associate Director level in Southampton. There's no closing date, so you can talk to us when the timing suits you. The guide salary is £58,000 – £75,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.
The consultancy
This is the planning team of a major national property adviser. It works across development planning, strategic land, and commercial and residential schemes. Its clients come from a wide mix of private and public sector organisations. Planners there work alongside colleagues from other property disciplines, which brings useful commercial insight to the advice they give.
What you will be doing
- Leading and shaping planning strategy on a varied portfolio of development and strategic land projects
- Managing applications and appeals from early appraisal through to determination
- Contributing to plan-making work, including promoting sites through local plan processes
- Building and maintaining client relationships, and helping to win new work
- Guiding and developing more junior planners within the team
About you
- You are an experienced, chartered (MRTPI) planner, or close to it, with a strong record in private sector consultancy
- You have run complex schemes and are confident dealing with clients, authorities and other professionals
- You have a good understanding of the planning system in the South of England
- You are commercially minded and enjoy mentoring others
