Salary: £39,089 to £47,030 per annum (Inclusive of London Fringe
Weighting) plus a market forces supplement of £4,000 per annum, subject to
review in Spring 2027

individual to join our Planning Enforcement Team within Dacorum Borough.
Dacorum is easily accessible from the M1, M25 and the A41. The Borough consists
of commercial, urban, rural, Green Belt and AONB, providing an opportunity for
a vast range of breaches of Planning Control.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced candidate to
join our growing wider Development Management service.
What is the opportunity?
You will be a motivated and proactive individual who will take responsibility
for ensuring high standards, working within a small team. The team use their
full range of skills in an effective and innovative way to secure improvements
for residents across Dacorum Borough. You will possess strong persuasion,
negotiation and communication skills, and will be adept at advising customers
on how to achieve compliance and ensure that assessments of harm and expediency
are conducted appropriately.
The post presents an ideal opportunity for an individual who already has
in-depth experience and knowledge of Planning Enforcement and is perhaps
looking to progress their career dealing with more complex cases and supporting
management functions. You will need to have the relevant level of qualification
and experience, including a sound knowledge of Planning Enforcement.
Our Planning Enforcement Team are responsible for investigating and resolving
breaches of Planning Control, including unauthorised works to Listed Buildings
and to Protected Trees.
You will act as advisor to the Assistant Director, Head of Service, Manager and
senior management on the allocated service.
You will work in collaboration with other services and senior management to
ensure that services are joined up appropriately and are aligned to the
achievement of the Council’s aims and objectives.

vehicle or frequent access to transport to access urban and rural locations,
sometimes at one day’s notice for priority visits.
