About the employer

Working at Middlesbrough Council

Middlesbrough Council is the unitary authority for Middlesbrough, covering the town centre and districts including Linthorpe, Acklam, Marton, Nunthorpe, Coulby Newham, Hemlington and North Ormesby. It provides all local council services, from schools and social care to housing, highways and planning, and is part of the Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Middlesbrough is the main town of the Tees Valley, built on the iron and steel industry along the River Tees. Planning work focuses on regeneration of the town centre and Middlehaven, the digital and creative businesses in the Boho area, Teesside University's campus and new housing in the south of the town. Officers work on the Middlesbrough Local Plan, town centre change, brownfield sites and urban renewal, in a compact authority where regeneration is a constant theme.
