Salary: Scale 5 – S01 (£31,069 - £37,408 per annum)

The Role:
On the fringe of London, the District is experiencing significant development pressure, with a variety of planning applications. The District has an excellent built and natural environment, many Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and major areas of Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We promote the highest standards of design through negotiation and pro-active work.

An enthusiastic candidate with environmental awareness and an interest in planning is now required to fill a vacancy within the Development Management team. The role may include a combination of handling of pre-application enquiries, planning applications, enforcement cases, appeals and project work. Dealing with a varied caseload you will have the potential to develop your career and make an important positive contribution to the local area.

What we are looking for:-
The role will require strong verbal, written and presentation skills and candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle a diverse and competing workload and work to tight deadlines. Good interpersonal and management skills will also be necessary, as will be liaising and negotiating with the public, external agents and organisations, Council Members and other Council departments.

You must possess a clean driving licence and have daily access to personal transport.
