We offer a wide range of career opportunities at every level of the
organisation. From apprenticeships to senior management, permanent to fixed
term contracts or part-time working, we have something for everyone.
Warwick District Council is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced manager to
lead a team encompassing planning policy, site delivery, development monitoring
and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
It is an exciting time to join Warwick District Council’s Place, Arts and
Economy team. The Council has been preparing a Joint Local Plan with
Stratford-on-Avon District Council and intends to submit the plan for
examination later this year. Extensive housing and employment growth is
proposed within the area, and the plan will include policies to deliver on the
ambitions of the two councils.
The Council is committed to delivering high quality development and a strong
and resilient economy and has put tackling the Climate Emergency at the heart
of all it does. This role is critical in ensuring the Council delivers on these
aspirations.
Are you an experienced and qualified planning professional with management
experience looking to progress your career? Do you have a strong track record
of successfully delivering development whilst working with stakeholders in a
politically sensitive environment? Can you combine this with excellent
communication skills, a proven ability to manage complex work, experience of
formulating planning policy and an ability to meet tight deadlines?
If so, this role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the work of the team
in a District experiencing significant development pressures and opportunities
and to deliver real benefits to current and future residents.
In your role, amongst other things you will be responsible for matters relating
to the Local Plan and the production of other planning policy documents;
management of the delivery of major sites in key growth areas; council lead on
cross-boundary planning activity; and responsible for development monitoring.
If you think that you fit the criteria, then we would love to hear from you.
