About the opportunity
Our client is always keen to hear from talented Principal Planners, and there's no closing date. The role can be based in Norwich, Cambridge or Milton Keynes, whichever suits you best. The salary guide is £48,000 – £60,000 plus benefits, depending on your experience.
The consultancy
This is a long-established property consultancy with deep roots in the East of England and the Oxford-Cambridge area. Planning sits alongside other property disciplines in the business, so you would work with colleagues across the firm. Clients include landowners, estates, developers and investors.
What you will be doing
- Leading strategic land and residential and commercial development projects from first appraisal through to permission
- Promoting land through local plan processes
- Managing applications and appeals, including the strategy, evidence and advocacy behind them
- Advising on rural and estate planning matters
- Building client relationships and supporting the growth of the team
- Guiding and developing Senior Planners and Planners
About you
- Substantial consultancy experience, and ideally MRTPI chartered or close to it
- A solid record on strategic land, major applications or appeals
- Confident in running your own caseload and managing client expectations
- Commercially aware, with a good understanding of how the local plan system works in the region
- Happy to mentor colleagues and keen to take on more responsibility
