About the opportunity
Our client, a multi-disciplinary planning and design consultancy with a London office in EC1V, is always keen to hear from talented Senior Planners and Senior Planning Officers. There's no closing date, so you can get in touch whenever the timing suits you.
The consultancy
This is a planning-led practice where planning, urban design, landscape and heritage specialists work together rather than in separate silos. The team acts across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, and has offices around the UK, so London planners are part of a wider national network. Colleagues from other disciplines are close at hand, which makes for better-rounded advice and a broader range of work.
What you will be doing
- Managing your own caseload of projects, from early site promotion through to applications and appeals
- Preparing and coordinating planning statements, representations and supporting documents
- Working alongside urban design, landscape and heritage colleagues to shape schemes that can be consented
- Leading client relationships and negotiating with local authorities and stakeholders
- Supporting and guiding more junior planners as your experience grows
About you
- Several years of UK planning experience in consultancy, or a local authority background with strong development management experience
- A track record of handling projects with a degree of independence
- A sound grasp of planning policy and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Enthusiasm for working with other disciplines
- MRTPI, or well on the way to chartership
The salary guide for this level in London is £42,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
