Are you a talented Town Planner ready for your next challenge? Join East Hampshire District Council at an exciting time of change and opportunity, where your work will genuinely shape the future of our communities. Following a recent review of resources, we are expanding our Development Management Team and are looking for a Senior Planning Officer to play a key role in delivering high-quality, place-focused development across the district.
East Hampshire is a beautiful district. From the stunning landscapes of the South Downs National Park together with our historic market towns, attractive villages and countryside, you will be helping balance growth with the protection of what makes this area unique. Like many authorities, we face important challenges around housing delivery and sustainable development; but we are committed to ensuring that growth is positive, well-planned and benefits our communities.
Working in an exceptionally attractive and scenic part of the country, you can expect to deal with a wide range of planning applications, appeals and related enquiries. The post is aimed at either an experienced Senior Planner or someone ready to take the next step up. The right candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, together with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
You’ll also be joining us at a time when local government is evolving, with Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) on the horizon. This presents a unique opportunity to be part of shaping how planning services are delivered in the future, which will bring innovation, collaboration and new ways of working to the forefront.
We offer a supportive and modern working environment, including:
In return for your valued contribution, we can offer you a competitive benefits package which includes training and development opportunities, generous annual leave and flexi time, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and more.
