We offer a wide range of career opportunities at every level of the organisation. From apprenticeships to senior management, permanent to fixed term contracts or part-time working, we have something for everyone.

Warwick District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Planner or Planning and Development Surveyor to lead the Council’s work in the complex and challenging area of bringing forward high-quality development and timely infrastructure on major development sites.

This role sits within the Planning Policy and Delivery team of the Council, responsible for matters relating to planning policy, site delivery, development monitoring and the Community Infrastructure Levy.

This post will involve working closely with developers and infrastructure providers to help shape masterplans for strategic sites (potentially including new settlements) and to ensure developer contributions are coordinated to deliver infrastructure requirements. The work will also involve the careful monitoring and management of development. This post is likely to focus on development proposals in a specific geographic area of the district, although the postholder may be asked to work on sites and projects across the district.

You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a successful track record of working on master planning and/or delivery of major development sites. You will need to have strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills, along with an understanding of development viability and the planning system.

You will also need to have experience of working with key stakeholders in the development process.

If you think that you fit the criteria, then we would love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact either Andrew Cornfoot (current Planning Policy and Major Sites Delivery Manager) by email [email protected] or Philip Clarke (Head of Place, Arts and Economy) [email protected] to arrange a call.
