About the employer

Working at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is the unitary authority for an area on both sides of the River Tees, covering Stockton, Billingham, Thornaby, Yarm, Ingleby Barwick and Eaglescliffe, along with villages and part of Wynyard. Based at the Municipal Buildings in Stockton, it provides all local council services and is part of the Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Stockton has some of the strongest housing growth in the Tees Valley, with large sites at Wynyard, Ingleby Barwick and on the edge of the main towns. The council is reshaping Stockton town centre around a new riverside park, while Billingham's chemical industry and employment land along the Tees bring industrial and energy casework. Planners work on the Stockton-on-Tees Local Plan, housing delivery, town centre regeneration and historic places such as Yarm's high street.
