Working at Vale of White Horse District Council
Vale of White Horse District Council is the district council for south-west Oxfordshire, covering Abingdon-on-Thames, Wantage, Faringdon, Grove, Botley and a rural area of villages below the Downs. It runs district services such as housing, waste collection, leisure and planning, and shares staff with South Oxfordshire District Council.
The district includes much of Science Vale, with Harwell Campus and Milton Park among the UK's leading science and business locations, and has seen strong housing growth around Abingdon, Wantage and Grove. To the south lies the North Wessex Downs National Landscape and the Uffington White Horse, and to the north the Oxford green belt. Planners work on the joint local plan with South Oxfordshire, strategic sites and employment growth as well as heritage and rural casework.
