About the employer

Working at Angus Council

Angus Council is the local authority for the area between Dundee and Aberdeenshire on Scotland's east coast, serving Arbroath, Forfar, Montrose, Brechin, Carnoustie, Kirriemuir and Monifieth along with the Angus Glens. Based in Forfar, it runs local services including schools, roads, housing, waste and planning.

Its planning team prepares the Angus Local Development Plan under National Planning Framework 4, covering coastal towns, prime farmland and the upland glens, the highest of which lie within the Cairngorms National Park. Casework ranges from housing and town-centre schemes in historic burghs such as Arbroath and Brechin to port and renewable energy activity at Montrose, rural business and countryside development, so officers see a varied mix of policy and development management work.
