Fastest Infrastructure Build‑Out in a Generation

Major infrastructure planning reforms continue to accelerate the pace of nationally significant projects across energy, transport and water.

• Pre‑application consultation scrapped for NSIPs Mandatory pre‑application consultation for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects is being removed, cutting up to 12 months from the process and saving industry around £1 billion.

• Early technical support now standard Developers will receive earlier advice from the Planning Inspectorate, with examinations streamlined to focus on key issues and reduce delays. Over 80 prospective applicants have already used the new service.

• 150 major infrastructure decisions targeted this Parliament Government aims to triple the number of major project decisions compared with the previous Parliament, with 41 already made since taking office.

• 82,000 jobs linked to approved projects Green‑lit schemes — including offshore wind, energy parks and major transport links — are expected to generate more than 82,000 jobs and expand clean energy capacity nationwide.
