Working at City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is the metropolitan council for the Bradford district in West Yorkshire, covering the city of Bradford and towns including Keighley, Shipley, Bingley, Ilkley, Baildon and Queensbury. It runs all local council services, including education, social care, housing, highways and planning.
The district runs from a dense urban core to the moorland of the South Pennines and the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, with Haworth's Bronte country and the Saltaire World Heritage Site. Planners work on the Bradford District Local Plan, city centre regeneration and transport proposals, housing within extensive green belt, and heritage-led work in the mill towns, so officers see a mix of large urban schemes, conservation and rural casework.
