Flintshire is one of the most industrial parts of Wales, with major manufacturing at Broughton and Deeside and close economic ties to Chester and the wider north-west of England. The council's Local Development Plan works within Future Wales, and officers deal with employment land around Deeside, housing growth in the towns, cross-border issues with Cheshire West and Chester, and the protected estuary and countryside in between.
