Working at City of Lincoln Council
City of Lincoln Council is the district council for the cathedral city of Lincoln, based at City Hall. It covers the historic uphill area around the cathedral and castle, the city centre and Brayford Waterfront, and residential areas across the city, providing services such as council housing, waste collection, leisure and planning.
Planning in Lincoln is guided by the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan, prepared jointly with North Kesteven and West Lindsey. The city combines significant heritage, including the cathedral quarter and Roman remains, with growth driven by the University of Lincoln and regeneration schemes such as the Western Growth Corridor. Officers deal with conservation and archaeology, city-centre and student housing schemes, and cross-boundary growth on the city's edges.
