About the opportunity
Our client is always keen to hear from talented Planners and Planning Officers in Oxford. There's no closing date, so if you are looking at your next step, now is a good time to talk. It would suit someone with early experience in a consultancy or public sector planning role who wants broader, more varied work and a clear route to progress.
The consultancy
This is the planning team of a long-established property consultancy, rooted in the East of England and the Oxford-Cambridge area. Planners work alongside colleagues in wider property disciplines, so advice is joined up and grounded in how land and development markets really work. The client acts for landowners, developers, estates and rural businesses.
What you will be doing
- Preparing and managing planning applications across residential, commercial and rural schemes
- Supporting strategic land and local plan promotion, including site appraisals and representations
- Contributing to appeals, from evidence gathering to drafting statements
- Researching policy, drafting reports and helping to build relationships with clients and local authorities
- Working with senior colleagues who will help you take on more responsibility as you develop
About you
- Degree in town planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI accredited, or working towards chartership
- Experience of the UK planning system, in consultancy or a local authority
- Sound written skills and a curious, practical approach to problem solving
- An interest in strategic land, rural or estate work is helpful, but not essential
The salary guide is £30,000 – £38,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.
