About the opportunity
Our client is always keen to hear from talented Principal Planners. There's no closing date, so you can get in touch whenever the timing suits you. The role can be based in Bristol, Birmingham or Southampton, whichever works best for you, with the guide salary at this level being £48,000 – £60,000 plus benefits.
The consultancy
Our client is the planning team of a major national property adviser. It works for a wide range of private and public sector clients, and its planners sit alongside colleagues in other property disciplines. That gives them a broad view of how schemes are shaped, funded and delivered.
What you will be doing
- Leading development planning work on commercial and residential schemes
- Promoting strategic land through the planning system, including plan-making and local plan representations
- Managing planning applications and appeals from early appraisal through to decision
- Advising a varied client base and building lasting relationships with them
- Guiding and developing Planners and Senior Planners within the team
- Contributing to business development alongside senior colleagues
About you
- Substantial experience in private sector consultancy, or a comparable background, and ready to operate at Principal level
- A solid record across applications, appeals and promotion work
- Chartered membership of the RTPI, or close to it
- Confident leading projects and clients, and happy to support less experienced colleagues
- Commercially minded, with sound judgement and clear communication
