Working at Rushmoor Borough Council
Rushmoor Borough Council is the district council for the north-east corner of Hampshire, covering the towns of Farnborough and Aldershot. From its offices in Farnborough it runs district services including housing, waste collection, leisure, parks and planning.
Rushmoor is a compact, largely urban borough shaped by its military and aviation history, from the Aldershot garrison to Farnborough Airport and its international airshow. Planning work under the Rushmoor Local Plan includes Wellesley, the large new neighbourhood on former army land in Aldershot, and the regeneration of both town centres. The Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area means housing schemes need mitigation and green space, so officers combine town centre renewal and major-site work with environmental and heritage considerations.
