Our client is always keen to hear from talented Senior Planners and Senior Planning Officers for its Birmingham (B3) office. There's no closing date, so you can get in touch when the timing suits you. The guide salary is £38,000 – £50,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.
The consultancy
Our client is a national property consultancy. Planning sits alongside its building consultancy, commercial and residential teams, so planners work closely with other specialists. The firm combines national coverage with strong local relationships. It has a reputation for taking ownership of its work and for developing people who want to build a career there.
What you will be doing
- Managing a varied caseload of planning applications for property owners, occupiers and developers
- Working on commercial, retail, leisure, roadside, industrial/logistics and residential schemes
- Contributing to appeals and to the promotion of sites through the planning system
- Writing clear, persuasive reports and advice
- Building relationships with clients, local authorities and colleagues in other teams
- Helping to guide and support more junior planners
About you
- Several years' experience in a planning consultancy, or a comparable role in local government or the private sector
- A track record in some of the sectors above. You don't need to have covered all of them.
- Confidence handling your own projects and dealing directly with clients
- Ideally, but not essentially, MRTPI or well on the way to it
- A proactive, collaborative approach
