Working at Surrey Heath Borough Council
Surrey Heath Borough Council is the district council for north-west Surrey, covering Camberley, Frimley, Bagshot, Lightwater, Windlesham, Chobham and Deepcut. From Surrey Heath House in Camberley it runs district services including housing, waste collection, leisure and planning.
Large areas of heathland in the borough form part of the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area, so new homes need mitigation and alternative green space, while green belt covers much of the east. The Surrey Heath Local Plan focuses on Camberley town centre regeneration and on Mindenhurst, the new community on the former Princess Royal Barracks at Deepcut. Military land, conservation areas and village character in places such as Chobham add to a caseload of regeneration, major sites and environmental work.
