£58,000 – £75,000 (guide) Bristol, Manchester or Birmingham, South West Full time, Permanent Open until filled

About the opportunity

Our client is always keen to hear from talented planners at Associate Director level, and there is no closing date. The role can be based in Bristol, Manchester or Birmingham, whichever suits you best. The salary guide is £58,000 – £75,000, depending on experience.

The consultancy

Our client is a global commercial real estate adviser with a dedicated planning team. Planners there work alongside colleagues in development, investment, valuation and other real estate disciplines. Advice is therefore shaped by a wide view of the market, and the team advises investors, developers and occupiers.

What you will be doing

  • Setting development strategy and advising clients on how to take sites through the system
  • Overseeing planning applications and appeals, from early appraisal to decision
  • Providing clear, commercially minded planning advice to investors, developers and occupiers
  • Managing and developing your own team and contributing to the growth of the regional office
  • Building client relationships and helping to win new work

About you

  • Substantial experience in private sector planning, with a strong record on complex, large-scale schemes
  • Practical experience of applications and appeals, and confidence in the strategic side of planning
  • Comfortable leading people and managing a project portfolio
  • A credible client-facing presence, with an interest in business development
  • MRTPI, or working towards it, is usually expected
