Planning in East Dunbartonshire

East Dunbartonshire lies just north of Glasgow and is mostly made up of commuter towns: Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Lenzie and Lennoxtown. East Dunbartonshire Council is the planning authority, working within NPF4 and its Local Development Plan.

The Antonine Wall, part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire World Heritage Site, crosses the area, and the Forth and Clyde Canal runs through Kirkintilloch.
